The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is seeking Qualified Nurses that have trained outside Europe and have successfully passed the International English Language Test at Level 7 in all areas and that have successfully completed Part 1 of the NMC Computer Based test to join our overseas nurse programme.
The 12 week programme will fully prepare you to undertake the NMC OSCE and prepare you for employment as a band 5 Registered Nurse in a range of clinical areas the Hospital.
It includes:
- a thorough theoretical and practical induction to the NNUH and your clinical area
- a period of supervised practice in your clinical area, supported by a mentor, supplemented with weekly release for OSCE preparation sessions with a named Clinical Educator - These practical sessions are based on the NMC competencies that you will be tested against at the testing centre
- pastoral and practical support in the period leading up to, and after the OSCE examination day
- a period of preceptorship following your registration with the NMC
- Trust funding for your first OSCE attempt
During the programme you will function and be paid as a band 4 pre-registration nurse.
Employment with the Trust following completion of the programme will be dependent on gaining NMC registration to be able to practice as a Band 5 Registered Nurse.
There is an expectation that you achieve your OSCE within 8 months from your start date of employment
You will use the skills, knowledge experience gained as a Registered Nurse overseas in preparation for becoming a Registered Nurse in the UK by undertaking a range of clinical nursing duties and training under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse until confirmation of entry to the NMC register is confirmed by the Trust.
All staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUH’s ‘PRIDE’ values of People focused, Respect, Dedication, Integrity and Excellence.
(Please be aware that if you leave your employment with the Trust within 12 months of gaining your NMC registration the cost of the tests and administration fees will be recovered from your final salary payment prior to leaving the Trust.)
